History

Our history is being written even as I write these words. Until very recently, the US women’s program was little more than a vague inevitability for someone far in the future to pursue: "Yes it will happen surely one day, but just now our hands are quite full." The growing stability, organization and competitive success of the men's program has laid the foundation for a confident and decisive launch of a women's team. Much sooner than expected, we have acquired the resources, connections and experience necessary to undertake the endeavor. In order to capitalize on this opportunity, we are recruiting athletes of all backgrounds to ensure that we have assembled the strongest group of individuals--the most cohesive and effective fistball team.

There is a women’s world championship every four years, and women compete professionally on club teams throughout Europe and South America (for which there are national and continental club championships, as well). My hope is that you will help to kick-start the US program. I hope that you will come out, fearlessly and without reserve, to compete with Team USA at ‘Weltmeisterschaft’ 2014 in Germany. Under the supervision of Gastao Englert, our national trainer and head coach, I want to help you develop your fistball technique and strategy. As an inaugural program, you will enjoy a certain separation from pressure, yet (and you have my word) you will be sufficiently prepared to compete confidently--and successfully--on the world stage.
